A while back, my daughter had excema and we couldn’t get rid of it. She cried when we put lotion on her because it stung. Baby oil didn’t work. She was miserable. In the winter, she got cracks in her fingers and toes. Ouch! So, in experimenting with lotions, I developed this lovely lotion that works miracles.
In a double boiler, gently heat the following things:
- 2 ounces bees wax
- 2 tsp shea nut butter
- 1.5 tsp coconut oil
When these are melted, add:
- 1/8 cup olive oil
- 3/8 cup almond oil
- 1 tsp glycerine
- 1 dropper or 2 capsules of vitamin E oil
- 1/8 tsp of a bacterial growth inhibitor; I use Germall Plus
Take off heat and cool, then add, one drop at a time,
- 1/4 cup of tea made from calendula and comfrey (take a pinch of each of these herbs and add to 1/4 cup water, then boil in microwave)
- A dash of any essential oil you wish to scent this with
Take an immersion blender or a whisk and mix thoroughly together. Then, pour into a non-reactive container. I use canning jars.
